Since the founding of our predecessor organization, Mid-American Taekwondo Centers in 1984, the Choong Sil Taekwondo Federation (CTF) has been training high quality martial artists. We offer students and instructors alike, access to the highest quality martial arts training available. In addition, we are available on a 24/7 basis to answer any questions you may have about our organization.Placeholder Image  We have provided superior training to our instructors and students and have assisted them in achieving their goals. Our commitment to excellence has helped us develop a large core of excellent practicing martial artists and one of the premier national tournament programs available in the United States today.

Our ValuesThe Choong Sil philosophy was developed to give our students a useful, goal-oriented philosophy that could help them to achieve excellence, not only in their martial art, but also in their daily lives. The CTF practices the Chang Han pattern system as well as four additional patterns developed by Grandmaster Robert Hardin to complement our teaching progression.  These four “discipline” patterns are integrated with our philosophy which stresses goal setting, inspiration, development of a strong work ethic and, ultimately, achievement of one’s goals.

The CTF’s primary responsibility is the development and certification of its members’ martial arts skills.  We have developed a teaching structure to help CTF affiliated instructors insure a student’s progression through the martial arts ranks.  The CTF rank certificate guarantees that each holder meets certain minimum requirements prior to earning their rank advancement.

Teamwork:The CTF exists to support the efforts of our affiliated instructors. We are always working to refine our existing systems and to develop new programs tailored to meet the unique needs and challenges faced by our affiliated instructors. We are also a family where each instructor can learn from other’s experiences.  By helping each other, we all grow stronger. The CTF offers various services to complement a member student’s training program at their taekwondo club.  In addition to rank certification we offer our individual student members the following services:

  • National tournament program
  • Advanced training opportunities
  • Monthly newsletters
  • Transfer privileges and temporary training at other CTF affiliated schools
  • Student Accident Insurance that covers the student during training, tournaments and other Taekwondo related events.

Leadership: At The CTF, we are fortunate to have developed an extremely strong base of high-ranking martial arPlaceholder Imagetists with many years of experience in teaching under the leadership of Grandmaster Robert H. Hardin and our distinguished group of Masters.  Through our  alliance with Grand Master C. K. Choi, one of the few remaining pioneers of Tae Kwon Do and one of its first grand champion competitors as well as other US organizations through the USTL, we can offer our members not only the highest possible level of Black Belt Certification but also the opportunity for International competition.

Our Headquarters:  The CTF headquarters is located in a beautiful, log lodge situated in the middle of the Ozark National Forest.  It is not only home to our National Office, but also many of our Black Belt Camps and a retreat available to our Black Belts.

Hall of Fame:  Each year we honor those members whose performances exemplify excellence.  These represent the “Best of the Best” and demonstrate the results of applying the Choong Sil philosophy.

Customer Relations: At The CTF, our highest priority is satisfying you. You are important to us and you can expect to find us when you need help.  Just contact us anytime via e-mail at or call us at 870-428-5353. We are proud to serve you and work hard to help you to be the best you can be.
